REGISTRATION IS CLOSED. WE WERE VERY EXCITED TO HAVE FIVE WOMEN AT THE LAKE! STAY TUNED FOR OUR NEXT SELF-GUIDED RETREAT.
Complete with a wood stove, full kitchen, and picture windows with views of the wooded yard, this peaceful location could be exactly what you need to focus on your writing, poetry, blogging, artwork - whatever it is that feeds your soul!
retreat allows you to spend your time where you need it most: engrossed
in your project. The only expectation is that you would join us
around the table for a family-style dinner each night. There will be an opportunity each day to share your work or ask for feedback after dinner if that's something you're looking for, but it is certainly not required.
Work spaces: two couches, recliner (bringing along a lap desk might be a good idea), large dining table to function as work surface, wooden TV tables if you'd like to pull a chair over by the window. (This is a television free weekend. If you'd like to watch something on your own device, please bring along ear buds so others aren't disturbed. Same goes for music.)
Situated on a small, wooded, waterfront lot, it's just a few steps through the trees to get an icy look at the vast expanse of water when you need a moment to clear your head. Take a walk down the quiet road to get your ideas flowing, or just park yourself by the picture window and enjoy endless tea as the view inspires your creativity!
Bed and room options are available on a first-come-first-served basis. We will remove options as they're spoken for. (Options are: single bed/private room with small desk (SOLD OUT); single beds in a shared room; common area pull-out sofa - if you select the sofa, you will be automatically upgraded at no charge if we don't fill other beds)
Can you only get away for one night? We can accommodate that! Choose the one night option from the list. Single nights will not get their choice of bed. Want to just come for a day? That's fine too! Select the day you'll come and we'll see you there! (Because we want to ensure everyone has space to work, we will limit participants to no more than 5 at any time - overnight guests take priority over day visitors.)
Parking: We are still working this out. There is room for three vehicles in the driveway. Because of snow and 'plow rules' we aren't sure about street parking but are investigating with the municipality. There is a possibility we will have to park some vehicles in town and shuttle you to the cottage. Guests will be alerted of this well before-hand if it becomes a necessity. We are asking what kind of vehicle you're bringing so we know what to be prepared for in regards to parking.
Full address will be revealed upon registration.
When registration is completed you will be invited into a private Facebook group where more information will be shared and you can meet others who will be in attendance.
Special Event Return Policy: we will refund your event registration up until three days before the event, minus a $10 service charge. In the event of cancellation on our part (inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances), you will be refunded in full.
